With so much public land in our backyard, the City of Delta is a great place to enjoy wide open spaces. We just ask that you do so responsibly. Please stick to marked trails, leave the area as you found it, be careful with fires, remove trash and avoid wildlife. We want everyone to feel welcome and the area to be wide open for years to come.

Mountain Biking Around Delta

Delta is surrounded by the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area to the west, the Gunnison Gorge Conservation Area to the east, and the Grand Mesa National Forest to the north. Each offers the mountain bike enthusiasts a wonderful place to play.

The city of Delta also has two plus miles of single track trails with three more to come by Confluence Lake.

You will be able to find single track, double-track, and fire trails in each of these areas so plan on spending some time here.

Area Wine Country

Delta County is home to some of the highest altitude vineyards in North America. Our location allows us to use fewer genetically modified seeds and chemicals. You will love our organic wines. Some of our wineries are the oldest in Colorado and you will discover that the majority of Colorado vineyards are on the Western Slope.

Come experience the Grand Valley and West Elks American Viticultural Areas and fall in love with our wines. No matter when you come you will find something to experience. A late summer visit allows you to experience other produce while a trip during the fall will bring you face to face with our colorful beauty. Take time to explore our unique and beautiful wine country.

Gold Medal Waters

Called by some an Angler's paradise, the Lower Gunnison Basin has some of the best fishing on the Western Slope. Often viewed as a secret, it is time to introduce this area to the world. This area was rated #2 for fly fishing by Orvis.com.

The area offers year-round fly fishing and is home to large brown and rainbow trout.

The Gunnison River offers abundant fishing opportunities. Come find the hidden gem that can be accessed from Delta.
